About Sarah McLachlan

After celebrating 30 years of her iconic "The Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" LP, the Canadian singer-songwriter took the time get back to writing. Marking her first original material (in a full album) in over a decade, fans have patiently waited for her big comeback. Her massive success came in 1997 with the release of her best-selling album "Surfacing", which allowed her to win two (out of four nominations) Grammys and four Juno Awards. A member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, her talent and dedication for music definitely shines through.

Playing music from a young age, could you believe that she began with the ukulele at the age of four? It sure is clear that music ran through her veins. Studying classical guitar, classical piano, and voice, she's professionaly trained by the Maritime Conservatory of Music. While she had classical training, she actually fronted a rock band in high school - proving her dynamic ability when it comes to her own music.

Following multi-platinum releases across her career, Sarah Mclachlan always stayed true to her core when it comes to writing songs. This time, "Better Broken", her first album with Concord Records, signifies a reawakening, claiming her voice back. Taking this catharsis to the studio, she createdn something so beautiful and powerful.

"When I started to work on the album I thought this might be my last record, so I owed it to myself to step out of my comfort zone," she shared with GRAMMY.com. "It was really important for me to come to a place with this record where I felt brave enough — and confident enough — to speak my mind, perhaps, more directly than I ever have in the past."

Taking it all to the stage, don't miss out on the Better Broken Tour by booking your tickets now!
